Dr. Ronald W. Gerbe was born in New York, graduated from Duke University in 1968,
was commissioned as a Naval Officer in 1969, and returned from duty in North and
South Vietnam as a combat veteran decorated for valor under fire to attend medical
school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After graduation in 1976, Dr.
Gerbe completed his residency in General Surgery and Otolaryngology and Head and
Neck Surgery at the University of North Carolina.
